Welcome to Zeta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
I humbly bring you greetings on behalf of the members of Zeta Iota Omega Chapter (ZIO) who are Pretty Serious About Our Service and Sisterhood. We are located in the beautiful Golden Isles of Brunswick, GA where we were the 1st African American Greek lettered organization for women.
Chartered on May 1, 1954 by 10 innovative women, Zeta Iota Omega Chapter continues to impact the lives of families in Glynn, Camden and McIntosh Counties. For over seven decades, ZIO has provided service to all mankind with scholarships, health initiatives, support to youth, tools for financial prosperity, nonpartisan civic engagement, sustainability and leadership development activities.
As the 1st Greek lettered organization established by African American Women, we proudly serve under the esteem leadership of our International President & CEO Dannette Anthony Reed. The 2022 – 26 International Program Initiatives under the Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood include Strengthening Our Sisterhood, Empowering Our Families, Building Our Economic Wealth, Enhancing Our Environment, Advocating for Social Justice & Uplifting Our Local Community.
Zeta Iota Omega Chapter consist of over 75 intelligent women who tenaciously work to enhance the local community through service that address specific needs. We welcome the opportunity to partner with organizations to expand our work in the communities we serve.
